New Barcelona signing – Gundogan could leave for free if he is not registered before La Liga starts fresh

Barcelona now only has 13 first-team players registered with the league, less than a week before the start of the 2023–24 La Liga season.

In that group, Ousmane Dembele and Franck Kessie are almost certain to go, leaving Barça with just 11 registered players.

Since none of the new acquisitions and the players who signed new contracts have been registered with La Liga, there are understandably some worries.

Gundogan might depart without cost.Ilkay Gundogan might leave Barcelona for free if the club does not sign him before the start of the La Liga season, according to journalist David Bernabeu Reverter.

The 32-year-old German international joined Barça earlier this summer after his contract with Manchester City expired and he became a free agent.

The Blaugrana made significant attempts to sign Gundogan, persuading him to reject City and numerous other teams who were also interested in signing him.

Barcelona is optimistic about signing players shortly.Barcelona are optimistic that the registration of players would be handled quickly despite rising concerns.

In fact, according to Gerard Romero, the La Liga champions will have everything in order as far as player registrations by this week’s Friday or Saturday.

By selling their 16% ownership in Barça Studios for €60 million, the Blaugrana hoped to ensure the registration was completed.

However, the operation was delayed, which raised some questions. The club, though, is certain that the deal will be completed this week.

It should make it easier for them to add new players like Gundogan, Inigo Martinez, and Oriol Romeu to their roster along with Ronald Araujo, Marcos Alonso, Sergi Roberto, and Inaki Pena who also inked new contracts.

Barcelona will hope that all of their players have registered by this Sunday, August 13, when they kick off their season on the road against Getafe.
