PSG offered Neymar loan to Barcelona as part of Dembele deal for €50m deal

As part of the deal that will see Ousmane Dembele move in the opposite direction, David Bernabeu Reverter of SPORT reports that Paris Saint-Germain made an offer to Barcelona to allow them to sign Neymar on loan as part of the transaction.

The transfer of Dembele to PSG is very close to being finalized, and it is anticipated that the deal will be finalized before the weekend.

After activating a ‘private’ provision in the player’s contract with Barcelona, the French powerhouses will pay the Catalan club a transfer price of fifty million euros to acquire the winger. However, the Catalan club will not receive the entire sum because the player will keep a portion of the money for himself. Paris Saint-Germain will pay the fee.

PSG has made an offer to Barcelona to acquire Neymar. Now it has come to light that Paris Saint-Germain made an offer to Barcelona during the discussions for Dembele to give them the option of re-signing Neymar.

The Brazilian superstar’s situation in Paris has become quite uncertain, and he appears to be on his way out of the club this summer. He had previously shown interest in joining the Blaugrana.

PSG is eager to get Neymar off their books and is aware that the player would jump at the chance to transfer back to Barcelona, so the club has presented the La Liga champions with the opportunity to take Neymar back on a loan deal. Now, PSG has also gone forward and provided the possibility for the La Liga champions to take Neymar back on a loan agreement.

Barcelona missed the opportunity completely.

To begin, the Catalans would not be able to afford the salaries that the Brazilian international would require, and there is no way that they could incorporate him into their existing wage structure.

On top of that, manager Xavi Hernandez does not want Neymar to be a part of his squad either, which is why the Catalans were quick to turn down PSG’s intention to sign him on a loan agreement as part of the Dembele transaction.

Between the years of 2013 and 2017, Neymar was a very productive member of the Barcelona squad, during which time he formed a lethal connection with club legends Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

He moved on to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 for a then-record amount of €222 million, but it is possible that he may be moving on again this summer. However, going back to Barcelona is not an option at this time.
