After Manchester City would not lower their asking price of 100 million euros for midfielder Bernardo Silva, Paris Saint-Germain made the decision to end the negotiations.
PSG has been quite active in the negotiation process to acquire Bernardo Silva from Manchester City over the previous two months. Jorge Mendes, the player’s agent, was also of assistance to Paris Saint-Germain in finalizing the transfer. The Paris club made two offers to Manchester City, the more expensive of which was for a transfer fee of sixty million euros.
The Ctiziens, on the other hand, flatly rejected the offer and stated that they had no intention of participating in the negotiation process so long as the offer remained unchanged. The position that the team and its coach, Pep Guardiola, have taken is that they will only consent to the trade if they are paid a total of one hundred million euros.
According to The Telegrah, the figure was so high that PSG realized it could not fulfill it and made the decision to abandon the effort. They are seeking for another target, and one possibility is Dembele from Barcelona, who might be had for significantly less than the asking amount.
Man City did not swim into the sea, and Paris Saint-Germain gave up.Under Pep Guardiola’s tutelage, Bernardo Silva evolved into an extremely flexible central midfielder. This indicates that there is no immediate pressure on City to sell the midfielder to another club. Earlier this week, it was reported by 90min that the board of directors had even told Silva that the club would not allow him to depart during the summer. The reigning champion of Great Britain is prepared to turn down any offer.
It is possible that Silva will view Man City’s determination to not release people as an act of them betraying their pledges to them. When Silva announced his intention to leave the club the previous summer, the club stated that they would create conditions for him this summer, but the club has since stated that they will not accept an offer from PSG.
The 28-year-old midfielder was acquired by Manchester City from Monaco in 2017, at which time he began playing for the club. When the Portuguese player contributes to the club’s success by helping them win five Premier League crowns, four League Cups, two FA Cups, and the Champions League, this is a very successful deal. Additionally, he played a significant role in Manchester City’s triumphant run to the treble in the previous season.
