Fabrizio Romano UPDATE: Dembele joins PSG on five-year contract, informs teammates of his decision

Ousmane Dembele will be moving on to Paris Saint-Germain after a drawn-out drama filled with ambiguity and a tense atmosphere in the Barcelona front office.

According to the trustworthy Fabrizio Romano, the 26-year-old midfielder has reached an agreement to join PSG on a 5-year deal that will last until 2028, and the French club has already informed Barcelona of the news.

Moussa Sissoko, Dembele’s agent, is said to have already called La Liga and informed them that PSG would activate the player’s €50 million release clause, which would result in Moussa Sissoko receiving €25 million, as reported by Gerard Romero.

Because if he stayed beyond tomorrow, a fresh release clause for €100 million would go into effect, and Barcelona would control 100% of the sum in the event that it was activated, his decision is financially reasonable. If he stayed after tomorrow, however, the clause wouldn’t go into effect at all.

In addition, the Frenchman had asked for a raise of €6 million on his current deal, something the Catalan club had declined to do.

Dembele shares the news of the switch with his teammates.Helene Condis, a writer for COPE, claims that Dembele has already informed some of his current teammates of his impending transfer to PSG over the phone.

The news that the French winger will be departing Barcelona has reportedly caused the locker room to be filled with’extremely sad’ emotions. This is due to the fact that the French winger was unquestionably one of Barcelona’s most important components, especially when taking into account the fact that Xavi worked very hard on his growth.

The club intends to demonstrate to UEFA not just the source of PSG’s economic prowess but also to demand that Paris Saint-Germain comply with the Financial Fair Play standards.

Now is the time for Barcelona to sign.Over the past few weeks, Barcelona has been attempting to make fresh recruits, but the club’s high pay expenditure as well as the requirements of La Liga have been a hurdle.

In spite of this, the club is now free to concentrate on bolstering its roster, with the addition of a right back being given top priority.

At this moment, it is difficult to predict exactly which players Barcelona will recruit, given that there will most certainly be further players leaving the club after Dembele’s departure.

After Dembele’s departure, it’s likely that Abde will remain.Even while it was common knowledge that one of Dembele’s backups, a 21-year-old player named Ez Abde, had already made a verbal deal with Real Betis, it is unclear whether Barcelona will release Ez Abde after the departure of the Frenchman.

A transfer offer of at least €30 million might change the scenario, given that the Catalan club is still financially in disarray and could require finances for fresh recruits; however, it is unknown whether the Moroccan player will receive an offer of this magnitude.

The teenager wants to remain with the club; however, he will only do so if the organization has faith in him and he gets opportunities to play on a regular basis. This is quite understandable when one considers that he will be battling for a position with Ferran Torres, Ansu Fati, Gavi, and Raphinha.
