Pep Guardiola hints at Mateo Kovacic after the first game

After Mateo Kovacic had played for blue for the first half an hour of his career, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was questioned about him.

In order for Mateo Kovacic to adapt to playing for Manchester City, as mentioned by Pep Guardiola, he will have to become accustomed to playing in a variety of positions.

This summer, Kovacic is the only new player to join the team that won the Treble, as negotiations with RB Leipzig for the transfer of defender Josko Gvardiol have thus far been unsuccessful. The goal of the midfielder will be to replace the majority of the minutes that Ilkay Gundogan played for the club before he was allowed to leave on a free transfer to Barcelona.

When it was revealed that Kovacic would be joining the City organization, City sporting director Txiki Begiristain lauded Kovacic for his ability to play either the No. 6 or No. 8 position in the City system.

In City’s first summer friendly, which took place in Japan against Yokohama F Marinos, their most recent No. 8 player was on the field for the first 45 minutes of the game and helped them win 5-3. The Croatian international was generally used in an attacking midfield role for City, but at times he was also the team’s furthest forward player while attacks were being mounted.

Guardiola was happy with what he saw from the new player, but he also noted that it will take time for Kovacic to acclimatize to the particular demands that the coaching staff at his new club has for him to fulfill. The newly hired employee will have a more difficult time of things because he will need to achieve these prerequisites for several positions.

The manager of Manchester City referred to the player’s debut for the club as “really good.”He excels in almost every sport he competes in.

This is the very first time he has come across him. He needs to be aware of who we are, what we want, and the reasons behind why we are utilizing him in a variety of roles. Nevertheless, exceptional in every way.”
