In the latest Lakers news, a two-way player from the team has impressed an expert in the summer league.

Following the conclusion of the NBA summer league, basketball fans will not be able to see their favorite teams compete once more until the month of October. The exhibition in Las Vegas, which took place as usual, was a lot of fun, and the Los Angeles Lakers were able to get a first look at some of their bright young players.

Center The University of Florida’s Colin Castleton has been one of the most spectacular performers throughout this competition. After he was not selected in the NBA Draft, the team ultimately decided to sign him to an agreement that allows him to play for both of their teams.

Castleton, who would give the Lakers additional options at center behind Anthony Davis, may fill a spot that is currently vacant on the Lakers’ roster. By enjoying a breakout season in the summer league, he demonstrated why the team handed him a two-way contract in the first place. Even a specialist took note of him and praised his performance, saying that he had excelled.

J. Kyle Mann of The Ringer discussed the young center for the Los Angeles Lakers based on his observations.

In addition to that, Colin Castleton is undoubtedly a rising star in his field. Castleton, a 6-foot-11 center from Florida, just signed a two-way contract with the Lakers. It is not out of the question that Castleton might become a rotation big within the next few years given his talent and the fact that he has the capacity to do so. In the past, I had not thought of him as being very nimble for his stature; nevertheless, now that I look at him, he appears to be more animated than I remember him being. It’s possible that his ability to pass will be his most valuable skill.

Castleton maintained his cool throughout the game and demonstrated his ability to adjust. Because of his deft touch, shooting the ball and making baskets is a piece of cake for him. Having said that, he has also demonstrated an elite level of ball handling and defensive brilliance.

Everyone was taken aback by his ability to pass, but in today’s NBA, teams are in desperate need of players with that skill. If he maintains his current level of effort and continues to make strides in his game, there is a fair possibility that the Lakers may include him in the rotation this season.

There were four traditional centers selected in the first two rounds of the draft, and if I had to hazard a guess, I’d say that the undrafted Castleton could end up being more serviceable than all of them together, with the exception of Wemby. This is just a wild estimate, of course.

Castleton’s name may have been brought up as a possible substitute for the team’s starting center after a solid showing in the summer league. Castleton’s performance was quite impressive. If he keeps performing at the level he has been, the forecast that he will end up being the second-best center in the class is not only realistic, but also likely to come true.

It will be interesting to see how highly the team thinks of his abilities, and who knows, maybe we’ll get a look of him wearing purple and gold in the not-too-distant future.
