Sergio Roberto, Ter Stegen, Ronald Araujo, and Frenkie de Jong were the four players who were brought in to replace Sergio Busquets at Barcelona when he left the team. Ronald Araujo also joined the team.

The players on the Barca team got together while they were on tour in Los Angeles and voted on the following list.Since Leo Messi left the team in 2021, Roberto has served as the number three captain for the past two seasons. Accordingly, he will be promoted to the position of number one captain. Roberto has spent the entirety of the last two campaigns playing third fiddle to Busquets and Gerard Pique.

After Pique announced his retirement in November of 2018, Roberto took over as Barca’s number two captain for the remainder of the 2022–2023 campaign.Now, once Busquets joined Messi in the United States to play for Inter Miami, the man who wore the number 20 shirt was promoted to the position of number one captain.

In point of truth, Roberto, who is now 31 years old, does not have a position that is guaranteed in coach Xavi’s team.During the previous campaign, Roberto appeared in a total of 33 games in all competitions, but only 23 of those were in La Liga.

During the upcoming season, the captain’s armband will be worn by Ter Stegen in the matches that Roberto is unable to participate in.Prior to that, the German goalkeeper was given the role of fourth captain after Pique stepped down from his position.
