There were some familiar faces in the crowd for Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami debut.

Fans were eager to see Messi in action for the first time since his free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in Friday’s League Cup match against Mexico’s Cruz Azul.

Basketball legend LeBron James, tennis legend Serena Williams, and social media sensation Kim Kardashian, on the other hand, all made it into DRV PNK Stadium.

Before the game, James and Messi were seen hugging.

Kardashian’s seven-year-old son, Saint West, accompanied her to the game.

“My son is obsessed with soccer,” she told Apple TV before the game, “and I will do anything for my babies.” So I’ve been all over the place, and we go on football trips.”

Kardashian went on to say that she had “played football for five or six years.”

“I was a goalie and a center-forward,” she continued. “I wasn’t doing too bad.”

Victoria Beckham, the wife of Inter Miami president David Beckham, was also present at the game.

Fans had to wait for Messi and fellow summer signing Sergio Busquets to come off the bench.
