Andre Onana’s Refreshing at OTF: The Touching Story Behind His Choice of No.24 Shirt

Andre Onana revealed the salary at Old Trafford as well as explaining why he chose the number 24 shirt after Man Utd confirmed the completion of the deal in a deal worth 55 million euros. The transfer of Andre Onana ended with the satisfaction of all parties involved. Erik ten Hag welcomes an old student at Ajax to replace De Gea as the number 1 goalkeeper of Man Utd next season.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper himself is also extremely excited with the step of ‘promotion’ after only 1 year at Inter Milan, his club played 41 matches and kept 19 clean sheets last season, including the journey to the final of the C1 Cup.

And Inter Milan happily earns 51 million euros in the immediate future and 4 million euros in surcharges depending on the performance of the Cameroon goalkeeper with the Red Devils.

Don’t forget, last summer the Serie A representative signed Onana on a free transfer after his contract with Ajax expired.

According to Italian journalist Anfredo Pedulla, coming to Man Utd, Andre Onana earns a salary of about 115,000 pounds a week excluding bonuses, in an agreement that lasts until the summer of 2028

This figure is less than a third of what Man Utd paid for De Gea before ($375,000/week), but if in the Premier League, Onana is also the 7th highest-paid goalkeeper, after Kepa (Chelsea) and Alisson (Liverpool) with 150,000 pounds/week, Pickford (Everton) – 125,000 pounds/week, Ramsdale (Arsenal) = 120,000 pounds/week, Emiliano and Martinez (both from Villa West Areola) and reserve £20,000/week.

Another remarkable thing, when Man Utd officially announced Andre Onana in the number 24 shirt, many people could not help but wonder why he did not choose the number 1 which was vacant after De Gea had left?

This was revealed by the insider and the reason was very simple: he chose the number 24 at Man Utd because that was the number he wore at both Inter and Ajax!

Sharing feelings when officially becoming a Man Utd player, Onana expressed: “Joining Man Utd is an unbelievable honor. The club has long had a reputation for many incredible goalkeepers.

I will now dedicate everything to creating my own legacy at the Theater of Dreams for years to come.

I am very excited at the opportunity to reunite with my mentor Erik ten Hag and can’t wait to contribute to the success of Man Utd, which I know for sure he is determined to do.”

Andre Onana is currently flying to the US to join Man Utd for the tour here.
