Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana sent an emotional goodbye message to Inter Milan before moving to Manchester United.
Erik ten Hag previously worked with goalkeeper Andre Onana at Ajax and he became the Dutch teacher’s number one target to replace David De Gea “to keep the wooden frame” of the Old Trafford team.
Andre Onana has sent an emotional goodbye message to Inter Milan fans and is finally ready to complete a £47m move to Manchester United. Onana signed a 5-year contract with MU, with the option to extend for another year and will wear the number 24 shirt. Onana has now flown from Manchester to New York to join MU to prepare for a tour in the US.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper Onana, who worked with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag at Ajax, posted on social media an emotional farewell message to Inter Milan: “I never imagined a breakup would be so difficult.
A year ago I became a Nerazzurro, many people told me that this club and this city has something special. Now I can confirm it. In my early days as a Nerazzurro, I realized that this is a family and that being an Interisti is a way to understand life.
I fell in love with San Siro, la Curva and the city. Now the circumstances are right for me to start a new journey in Manchester. I do it with great enthusiasm, but know that I will miss you. Forever grateful to all Interisti. You guys have made this club great.
Maybe one day our paths will cross again, but now is the time for me to face new challenges and cheer you on from afar. Players come and go, but the club always exists, and Inter Milan comes first, along with all the fans.”

Earlier, Onana told La Gazetto dello Sport (Italy) before flying to England to sign for MU: “It’s important to be honest and always tell people the truth. I’m a person who always wants new challenges. Playing in the Premier League and for a club like Manchester United is irresistible. All sides want this to happen.
But the important thing is, even if I stay, I will be equally happy because I have never had any problems at Inter Milan. Indeed, a miracle was born in Milan that is almost inexplicable.”
Andre Onana becomes MU’s second blockbuster signing (excluding Jonny Evans signing a short-term contract) in the summer transfer market, after the “red devils” signed Mason Mount from Chelsea for £60 million.

After officially being “the man of the red devil of Manchester”, Andre Onana shared: “It is a great honor to join Manchester United and I have worked hard all my life to get to this moment, overcoming many obstacles along the way.
Stepping out onto the Old Trafford pitch to defend our goal and contribute to the team would be another great experience. This is the beginning of a new journey for me, with new teammates and new fighting ambitions.
Manchester United have a long history of incredible goalkeepers, and I will now dedicate everything to creating my own legacy in the years to come. I am very excited for the opportunity to work with Erik ten Hag again and I can’t wait to be a part of the success I know he is determined to bring to this great football club.”
