ARSENAL supporters have expressed gratitude to “GOAT” Arsene Wenger for his advice to Bukayo Saka.
It has been revealed that the legendary Gunners manager told the England star during their first meeting last year.
Arsene Wenger has been lauded for his advice to Bukayo Saka.
Wenger and Saka first met in December 2022, after Arsenal defeated West Ham 3-1 at home.
Arsenal’s executive vice-chairman, Tim Lewis, has now revealed what was said during their meeting.
“It was great to take Arsene down to the dressing room,” he said, according to The Telegraph.
“Bukayo (Saka) didn’t know him, but he addressed him as’boss’ right away.”
“‘How can I improve, boss?’ he asked. ‘I think you should use your right foot more,’ Arsene said dryly.
After hearing the news, Gunners fans reacted positively on social media.
“He’s actually improved his weak foot so much this season,” one fan tweeted.
Another exclaimed, “GOAT!”
“Wise as usual!” exclaimed a third admirer.
Meanwhile, someone else said, “What an interaction.” He’s certainly taken my advice.”
Saka, who broke into the first team after Wenger left, never played for the legendary manager.
He admitted prior to their meeting, “One of my biggest regrets, well, not regrets, but something I haven’t been able to do, was to meet Arsene Wenger.”
The 21-year-old scored 15 goals and provided 11 assists for Arsenal last season, finishing as the club’s joint top scorer.
His performance earned him a new contract, which Saka extended in May until the summer of 2027.
